Our 48-month vocational Bachelor's of Integrative Health Sciences (BIHS) level and 74-month Master's of Integrative Health Sciences (MIHS) level programs for specialties in Acupuncture or Chinese Herbology is designed with flexibility and personalization by adapting asynchronous (E-Learning) and synchronous (face-to-face) classrooms and month-long in-person, hands-on intensive camps (twice per year) in our Athens or Thessaloniki campuses. What is the European Institute of Integrative Health Sciences?
The European Institute of Integrative Health Sciences (EIIHS) is a private higher education institution based in Greece with a global reach. We specialise in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Integrative Health Sciences, and related disciplines, delivered through blended hybrid online and residential learning.
What is Blended Hybrid Learning?

What degrees and programmes are offered?
BIHS: Bachelor of Integrative Health Sciences (4 years, 240 ECTS).
MIHS: Master of Integrative Health Sciences (6 years total, 360 ECTS).
Specialisations (pillars): Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Asian Manual Therapies, Health Energetics, Ayurveda (from 2027).
Other pathways: Certificates, elective modules, postgraduate CEU/PDA courses.
Can I combine specialties?
Yes. Students can begin with one specialty pillar and later add another to expand their degree. For Example Start with BIHS in Acupuncture, add the 4 semester Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) and obtain an MIHS In Acupuncture and CHM.

When can I enrol? We accept students twice yearly:
Fall Cohort: September start (applications are due by end of July)
Spring Cohort: February start (applications are due by end of December)
Can I transfer from another TCM school? Yes, subject to course equivalency review. Only graded modules are eligible for transfer (Maximum of 60 Credits are accepted). Students may also challenge a course by exam if documentation is incomplete.
How about non TCM Schools?
Previous degrees (and transcripts) from non TCM Schools may be submitted (if not older than 7 years) for review. Certain Science classes (i.e. Anatomy, Physiology, Medicine etc) may be transferable and may exempt the student from those classes.
What If I dont have a College Degree?
The EIIHS program is ideally suited for individuals with at least 2 years of previous college degrees, however, on case by case bases, EIIHS may accept students directly from Primary School (High School) or only with previous experience based applications.

Is EIIHS accredited?
Our programmes are designed to meet European TCM Association (ETCMA) and Pan-European Federation of TCM Societies (PEFOTS) standards.
We collaborate with Yo San University (USA), Anhui University of TCM (China), and maintain alignment with NCCAOM (USA) frameworks.
Our long-term goal is formal recognition through European higher education accreditation bodies.

What is the student workload?
Each module = ~20 hours asynchronous + 5 hours synchronous learning over 4 weeks.
Average Load = 3-4 Modules per month (9-12 modules per semester)
Delivery Method = Weekly, pre-recorded video lectures with embedded quizzes
Live sessions = One "flipped Classroom" Live session with professor per module, per week
Live session schedules = Saturdays, Sundays, Schedules are released at start of each semester.
Approximate weekly study load for Full-time BIHS students: ~30–35 hours per week.
Is attendance mandatory?
YES: Online video Lectures must be viewed (at least 80%) by end of each week to prepare the student for the live "Flipped Classroom" live session on the weekends. Attendance at all live "flipped classes" are mandatory. (1 excused absence per module is allowed).

When are classes held?
As a blended hybrid institution, we do not operate in traditional classroom settings. Our Pre-recorded lectures are released weekly. and it is up to the students to complete the viewing of these lecture on their own time and leisure, prior to the following weekend. The pre-recorded lectures also include interactive quiz elements, and assignments. Completion of these assignments and quizzes contribute to the students grades. (see grading section)
Live "Flipped classes" with the professors for each module are held on Saturdays and Sundays (usually one hour per module) for Q&A, assignments, and general discussion. Cohort schedules for these classes are are released prior to start of each semester.
When are exams?
Exams take place during the two Clinical intensive Practicums held at the EIIHS Sanctuary Teaching clinic in Athens.
EIIHS Examinations have two components.
Written Examination: Cumulative 100 question written exam in form of Multiple choice, True False and fill in the blank questions covering the entire prior semesters subject matter.
Oral Examination: Is a case based live examination of students critical thinking and real world capacity to analyse, present and discuss case based questions (usually in a form of random draw cards) to a panel of examiners.
Intensive schedule times:
Winter: - First week of January to First week of February each year
Summer: First week of June to First week of July
Schedule changes?
EIIHS reserves the right to make changes to the schedule due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will inform students in a timely and transparent manner, and provide alternative arrangements to ensure that students can continue their studies without interruption.

What study resources are provided?
Access to Google Classroom, the EIIHS e-Library, and interactive quizzes.
All pre-recorded lectures are also accompanied with comprehensive learning guides and student handbooks.
Required textbooks include core references in biomedicine and TCM (e.g. Maciocia, Deadman, Bensky, Wang Ju-Yi, Marieb, Tortora). List of these required textbooks are included in each modules learning objective / syllabus section
Do I need to buy books?
Most of the core knowledge for each module is provided within the handouts and study guides. EIIHS Google Classroom also has an online E-library of key textbooks, study materials and research papers for our students to view.
EIIHS strongly encourages our students to build their personal libraries of required textbooks (print or digital).

How important is clinical practice in the program?
Clinical observation and practice is a vital component of our Traditional Chinese Medicine program. It involves students observing and participating in clinical treatments under the supervision of experienced practitioners, in order to gain practical experience and develop their clinical skills.
When and where do clinical sessions take place?
Students begin clinical observation and practice from their first year of the program, and continue throughout their studies. Clinical observation and practice sessions take place in multiple student clinics, as well as through online case study classes. These clinics and classes provide students with the opportunity to observe and participate in real clinical treatments, under the guidance and supervision of experienced practitioners.
How does the clinical training work?
BIHS: 650 actual clinical hours with 250 Patient record files
MIHS: total of 900 actual clinical hours with total of 500 patient record files
Practicum takes place during intensives and in affiliated clinics.
Students perform supervised intake, diagnosis, and treatment, with strong emphasis on patient safety and clean needle technique.
Required Equipment
EIIHS Clinical Practicums require specific dress code.
First and second years - Observation - Medical scrubs
Year three and beyond - Clinical Interns - Clinical Scrubs or medical smocks.
Basic Medical Toolkit (travel Bag) and list of required equipment are described in the EIIHS Clinic Handbook manual available to registered students

Where can I complete internships? EIIHS partners with clinics and hospitals worldwide (Europe, USA, China, Nepal, Morocco, Zanzibar, India, etc.).
Internships: Pre-graduation supervised clinical placements at the EIIHS Sanctuary clinics
Externships: Optional 4th year and post-graduation training abroad.
Apprenticeships: Learning directly with senior practitioners or faculty.
In certain situations some of our students may be able to complete a certain percentage of the clinical hours with a local practitioner/clinic within their country of residency (with prior approval and vetting by EIIHS of the practitioner/clinic. (Details are arranged during enrollment)

Option 2 (Instalments): €4,000 (includes €200 registration fee + 3 instalments: €1,400, €1,400, €1,000)

How are students graded?
Grading is on a 100-point scale.
Components:
Quizzes, assignments - 40% of overall grade.
Mid-year & end-of-year exams - 60% of overall grade.
Exams = 50% written (100 Comprehensive written questions) + 50% oral/practical (panel).
What is the passing grade? The passing grade is 70% (D).

Where are the study intensives held?
