The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during an official ceremony held at the Athens Chinese Medicine Center in Halandri, marking the beginning of an evolving collaboration designed to benefit students, faculty, and the broader integrative health community.

Bridging Traditions, Expanding Horizons

The MOU was signed by Allison Simpson, J.D., Chancellor of EIIHS, and Yadong Zhou, Dean of the School of Humanities and International Education at Anhui University. Also representing EIIHS were Benjamin Saez, Dean of Administration, and Dr. Georgette Young, DAOM, Dean of Clinical Education, who welcomed the distinguished delegation from China.

The visiting delegation from Anhui University included:

  • Ruijin Xie, Chairman of the University Administrative Management Committee

  • Yadong Zhou, Dean of the School of Humanities and International Education

  • Wei Tang, Dean of the School of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina

  • Liangping Zha, Professor of the School of Pharmacy

  • Hui Li, Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Office

This agreement builds upon a growing academic relationship. In December 2024, EIIHS hosted members of the Anhui faculty for a series of specialized lectures delivered live to students in Athens, laying the groundwork for deeper institutional alignment.

What the Collaboration Includes

This international partnership opens new possibilities for:

  • EIIHS student study opportunities in China

  • Faculty exchange programs between the two universities

  • Collaborative academic research initiatives

  • Exploration of joint degree programs

Anhui University, with over 70 years of excellence in Traditional Chinese Medicine, provides a foundation of deep heritage and institutional wisdom. For EIIHS—still a young and fast-growing university—this collaboration reinforces its commitment to offering an education grounded in authenticity, cultural respect, and academic rigor.

“The heritage of Traditional Chinese Medicine originates in China. To be in partnership with Anhui University is both an honor and a responsibility we take seriously,” said Chancellor Simpson. “Our vision is to carry this legacy forward and make it relevant and impactful within today’s Western healthcare systems.”

This partnership directly supports the mission of EIIHS to deliver world-class integrative health education that is culturally informed, academically credible, and globally connected. It affirms the value of an EIIHS education—not just in Europe, but within a wider global health context.

For current and future students, this means:

  • Access to international learning environments

  • Opportunities to engage with top-tier TCM faculty

  • Enhanced academic credentials and cross-cultural experiences

  • Potential for advanced clinical or postgraduate study in China

For investors, partners, and academic stakeholders, this MOU signals that EIIHS is cultivating meaningful global relationships that enrich its educational offerings and strategic position in the field of integrative health.
