Interdisciplinary Case Presentations Across Major Hospital Departments
Day Three of the European Institute of Integrative Health Sciences (EIIHS) collaboration with Dhulikhel Hospital in Nepal centered on a full Clinical Theatre, bringing together major hospital departments for interdisciplinary case-based learning and integrative clinical demonstration.
Led by Dr. Aram Akopyan, Dean of Academics and Co-Founder of EIIHS, the day marked a significant deepening of hospital-based integrative acupuncture training through direct collaboration with department heads, chief physicians, and clinical teams.
Clinical Theatre with Major Hospital Departments
The Clinical Theatre brought together representatives and leadership from multiple departments, including:
Neurosurgery
Orthopedics
Gynecology
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)
Department heads and chief physicians presented clinical cases and brought patients forward for interdisciplinary discussion and demonstration, creating a shared learning environment focused on diagnosis, treatment planning, and integrative application.
This format allowed integrative acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to be examined within real hospital case contexts, alongside conventional medical perspectives.
Demonstrative TCM Diagnostics and Therapeutic Interventions
During the Clinical Theatre, Dr. Akopyan conducted demonstrative TCM diagnostics and therapeutic interventions, illustrating how integrative acupuncture and manual therapies can be applied responsibly within a hospital setting.
Clinical demonstrations included therapeutic approaches drawn from:
Acupuncture
Tui-Na manual therapy
Cupping techniques
Each demonstration emphasized clinical reasoning, diagnostic clarity, and appropriate technique selection in relation to the patient presentations offered by the hospital departments.
PerioStim™ Demonstration for Fracture Healing
As part of the Clinical Theatre, Dr. Akopyan also presented a demonstration of PerioStim™ in the context of fracture healing, offering hospital staff exposure to integrative therapeutic tools used within a structured clinical framework.

This demonstration contributed to interdisciplinary dialogue around recovery, rehabilitation, and integrative support within orthopedic care pathways.
Group Tai Chi with Hospital Staff
Day Three concluded with a group Tai Chi session conducted with hospital staff.
This session offered a shared experiential component, allowing physicians, rehabilitation professionals, and clinical staff to directly engage with a movement-based practice foundational to Traditional Chinese Medicine and integrative health.
The inclusion of Tai Chi reinforced the holistic framework underpinning integrative medicine—linking clinical intervention, practitioner embodiment, and patient-centered care.
Advancing Hospital-Based Integrative Medicine Education
The Day Three Clinical Theatre further demonstrated EIIHS’s commitment to hospital-based integrative acupuncture training, interdisciplinary education, and collaborative clinical exchange within established medical systems.
By engaging multiple departments simultaneously through case presentation, diagnostic demonstration, and therapeutic application, the collaboration continues to model how integrative medicine can function as a respected clinical discipline within hospital environments.
Additional updates will be shared as the collaboration progresses.
